If you bring in Breeland, you have 4 guys with starting experience. Not sure who the odd man out would be, but it’s a good problem to have.

Smith might play his way into the lineup anyways. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If Tremon Smith and/or one of the other guys like Reaser, Redmond, or Springs shows that they should be on the roster, I'm looking at Amerson as a possible cut. Perhaps even Nelson.

I think Nelson is about to have a great season tbh. So long as he’s healthy.

Amerson is the prototypical size of corner both Reid and Sutton like. If he can show he's recovered from injury, they'll force feed him on to the roster just to see if he'll stick, ala Marcus Cooper or your boy Dunta Robinson.

If he does stick, the Chiefs will have to overpay him next year if they want to keep him around.

I'd much rather go with one of our own guys instead of Amerson if those other guys are sufficiently up to the task.

I'm good with this.

I think corner is far and away the weak link on the defense this year, so let the best man win regardless of contract or experience.

The Chiefs may not be as talented as some of the other teams in the division. I understand that. But they want us to think teams coached by Vance Joseph and Anthony Lynn are going to beat Andy Reid teams consistently?

Nah.
Add to that a mediocre coach who’s been out fo the league a decade. I hadn’t thought about it from the coaching matchups. Damn. That’s a tough row to hoe for those guys.

We have 5 guys who can be really good pass rushers. If it all clicks they'll be alot of secondary guys who will have career years.

And if it doesn’t click there’ll be a lot of secondary guys who will have new careers this time next year.

Either way, I’m in.
