Speaks is so slow, I don't think I like him at DE in a 4-3 either. Move him inside since he wants to be fat. Houston is likely gone so right now it's just Kpass for your DE rotation if Ford isn't tagged.

Decent chance you could find some under valued 4-3 ends with how many teams are in 3-4 these days.

No one? I have a defensive coordinator who in the last six years went 2-3 against Tom Brady and held him to a passer rating of 77.8.

His name? Bob Sutton. Maybe we should hire him.

I still don't think there's a need to be married to a specific kind of front with how multiple a lot of defensive looks are. With that said, if teams were going to lean one way I'd lean towards the 4-3 because the players can be smaller and you need speed more than size in the modern NFL. Shit, it's not like having Bailey and Jones as massive DEs and two big LBs made a damned bit of difference when the Patriots played smashmouth and smeared them out of every play.

For some of you newer guys around here, this debate is very frustrating for some of us, because I remember going rounds with a lot of posters ten years ago when Pioli switched to a 3-4 and run that ****ing archaic two-gap system, which led to them taking that shit-ass Tyson Jackson with the third overall pick in the draft.

Move Jones to end then. He’d be able to sell out on a pass rush and not worry too much about run defense.

Bob Sutton's defense has been better than that. He's held Tom Brady to a average passer rating of 83.9 passer rating. Soo....

Need a tru #1 corner and those safeties are meh.

Dont think Berry will get released and if he doesnt hes starting. Also think the ends will be houston/ford.

Not sold that DOD is a 3 down player.

Anyone got any stats on how often a 43 team plays in their base D? I'm too lazy to research

I’m assuming it’s going to be based on the team.

The problem wasn't totally Sutton. It looked about 50/50 between coaching and talent.

They still need to fix the other 50% of the problem. Hopefully they draft some studs on the back end and in the trenches to revitalize this defense.
