Mahomes + Dome

So the last time Mahomes played a regular or post-season game in a dome was vs. Bayler. He scored 6 touchdowns and threw for almost 600 yds. Will be interesting to see if there's a marked jump in his stats this Sunday in Motor City. If so, how fast can the Hunts get a dome built? But seriously, if ever an offense was built for a dome, this would seem to be it. Would the Rams have been as good in their best years in St. Louis w/o a dome?

Can't wait until Sunday...

Mahomes hasn't played a game in a dome? Wow. That seems strange in these days.

Does this thread suggest Mahomes performs better when receiving dome before a game? Billay, CP needs you.

If we have a dome, our team can only get better and fans would be more into the game and louder ****ing up the other team. Even though fans are loud, it's still miserable being out there in the KC winter.

God and every NFL fan. Had a conference call with some folks in Los Angeles this morning. All anyone wanted to talk about was Patrick Mahomes. I was astonished at the level of interest. I've been dealing with these folks for quite a few years. Prior to Mahomes, none of them had ever expressed an interest in the Chiefs.

I actually think the next stadium will be a dome or retractable roof. Economic forces will likely push it that way. If the Chiefs come begging for taxpayer assistance to build, government will likely be asking for a facility that could bring other future economic benefits to the area (Super Bowl, Final Four, etc.). On the other hand, if Clark tries to build a privately funded stadium, pressures will exist to maximize revenues to fund the building when Chiefs are not playing. Both scenarios point to a climate controlled facility IMO. Another factor that will ultimately come into play as well is eliminating as many reasons why fans would choose to stay home as opposed to watching the game at home. Bad weather would be another "excuse" the team could eliminate by a climate controlled stadium.

Agreed. Just make rollable roof. Dont even need a full dome.

go watch the Texas Tech vs LSU bowl game that was held at Reliant Stadium(dome) in Houston. You see a lot of the things he's doing with the Chiefs these days.

Historically, dome teams aren't very successful at winning championships in the NFL.

Plus, Arrowhead would just look weird as a dome.
