I wonder if they were originally worn without shirts. It would make sense if they did that. Otherwise, they're just a waste of material for the bib (other than adding pockets or whatever, which could just as easily be done to a shirt).

LOL a university study. Its as simple as it was protective over clothing wear nothing more nothing less. In industry farming construction you get into all sorts of fluids oils grease etc. Overalls were made larger to go over clothing and the bib made it less restrictive in shoulders to railroad roundhouse a sledge. The old coal fired steam engines the conductors came to work in there good clothes and threw the bibs over along with a coat because the would become covered in black soot. Railroad oilers the same to protect whats under. These overalls were rarely if ever washed. They hung in a convenient spot to throw on for work.

Lumberjacks go look at those fellers old photes with 2 man saws. Most were wearing overalls and the weren't fat. The old denim if unwashed wore like iron.

Does OshKosh not exist any more? When I was a teenager, OshKosh overalls enjoyed a short fad status, or at least it did in my part of rural Missouri. I never wore them, but some of the cool kids with money did.

This is how I feel to. I mean 20 bucks 1 undershorts is kinda high when there best claim to fame is they mask oder. I mean if you got oder in the lower regions you have a bigger problem than undershorts get a diaper.
