Sounds like a good target for them. When I've seen them outside the Sprint Center, people kind of treated them as a tourist attraction/freak show. There wasn't any yelling or anything from either side, but people would go up and troll them a bit. Some people, including some (I assume) gays went up to them and had pictures taken with them. The Phelps clan pretty much just politely played along.

They protested the Foo Fighters at the Sprint Center back in 2011, so the Foo Fighters made a joke of it.

When i was walking around downtown San Diego last year for Comic Con, there was some Christian group there protesting. I went up to go troll a guy and before i said anything, he gave me a business card.
It was a calling card to God just in case i get locked up in hell and needed to call someone. I thought it was ****ing hilarious and clever. I took the card, left the christians alone went on about my business with a smile on my face. |
