Do you sometimes get sad about how unhealthy Andy Reid is?

Dude is obese in a highly stressful job that requires working in tough weather conditions at times (hot sun / freezing cold) and some level physical effort as well, as he is on his feet quite a bit. And he’s 60.

He has every resource at his fingertips; world class nutritionists, world class trainers, world class gym equipment, millions of dollars, and on and on.

He’s had some tough things happen in his life, with his children and all. But wouldn’t you think he’d be motivated to make healthy changes?

Kinda makes me sad for him. And for us - he can’t keep doing this forever, Especially in his current state.

He appears to wear compression socks. Heart issue.

Of course but what if diet Andy starts running the ball more or something else insane? I'm not messing with his routine.

Only if it ends his coaching tenure prematurely. I don't care that's he's big. He's ALWAYS been big. Even at 13.

Which is a well documented concern towards ending a life prematurely.

If you're asking your guys to have a ton of ass to make the squad, you have to lead by example.

I love Andy. I said when he was hired he was the best thing to EVER happen to Kansas City (well that was before Patrick Mahomes) but what if...and stay with me here...what if the Andy Reid offense is holding Patrick Mahomes back? Just being devils advocate here. It's kind of a systemy offense at times. What if we went to more of a traditional offense with less route options and more deep go routes or something for him to sling it.

Then you'd basically be Russell Wilson and the Seahawks and Mahomes would be passive aggressively trying to force his way out of town to play in a more dynamic, creative Reid-esque offense.

Ive actually heard people complain that our passing game isn't dynamic ENOUGH. I've heard multiple times that our route trees aren't particularly complicated. Teams figured out that no matter the window dressing, our receivers generally end up in the same places.

Hence why the Chiefs struggle against zones. Disciplined zone teams play their zones and don't over react and our WR's generally end up in their zones.

Our offense is a west coast variant, been around forever. Andy just adds new wrinkles every season.

But in general, the Chiefs aren't running the most complicated passing game in the league.

They're just really, really ****ing good at it.

All we can do is hope for the best. I hope Andy is healthy enough to coach the Chiefs for the next decade, if not longer.
