Allen got in Peter's head last season in the first game. Until Allen got hurt. Kelse got to see how it hurts the team yesterday while getting no big game attention. By design or chance I hope he learned something.

The AP Tuesday Show: No, Travis Kelce wasn’t being punished

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2017/...being-punished

Quote:
“After watching the film, I think that they targeted him five or six times throughout the game,” former Chiefs linebacker Shawn Barber explained, “but it just seemed a lot of the time when Kelce was being targeted, the Chiefs had some bad plays as far as the offensive line—they gave up some sacks. “What I did notice is that on five of the targets that I saw for Kelce, three of those targets, [the Chiefs] ended up getting sacked. Those plays were designed for Kelce to open up late in the progression, but the pass rush got there before [Smith] could find him.”

AP is certainly not gospel.

Peters is one of the best CBs in the league at a time when CBs are held at a premium. He is the reason why we do half of the things we do on defense. Our defense is reliant on sending in less pass rushers and asking our CBs to cover.

A 15 yard penalty or 2 is excusable. I'll take it if it's because the dude is too passionate.

Kelce, on the other hand... no excuse for a guy who gets flagged for showboating.

Kelce threw a really good block on the shuffle pass to Wilson at the goal line.

Think about it. Reid's not throwing the ball. Alex is. If you wanted to punish Kelce by giving him a crap stat line, you'd have to tell Alex to do that. You'd have to say, "Alex, never throw him the ball." Puts your team leader and the guy players go to for player concerns in an awkward position.

You want to punish a player? You bench him. You don't involve your QB in the punishment. You don't jeopardize the team's chances of winning to send a message when the message isn't very clear and known to the offending player in the first place.

That sounds like Todd Haley shit. A ****ing nutcase who would hold grudges and burn the entire house down just to send the message "Go **** yourself."

Andy's not that kind of coach. And thank ****ing God for that.
Reid calls the plays and sets up the entire game plan. Reid can accomplish that without Smith.
