Blood-soaked Florida man clings to truck for 9 miles (Video)

Video (some NSFW language)
https://video.foxnews.com/v/6177457402001#sp=show-clips

In dramatic video posted to social media, a bloodied man is seen clinging to the hood of a semi truck as it barrels down a Florida highway.

The bizarre incident started shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday, when the Florida Highway Patrol got a call about a disoriented white male abandoning his vehicle on an exit ramp near Boynton Beach, the Daily Mail reported.

The man then jumped the concrete divider between the turnpike's southbound and northbound sides, causing traffic to slow.

Edward Hughes, a truck driver, told TMZ that he saw the man frantically waving for him to stop. Hughes did, concerned that the man was covered in blood, but he instead jumped onto the hood of the semi tractor-trailer and started bashing the windshield with a metal object.

In a panic, Hughes said he hit the gas, trying to shake the man off. The man remained latched onto the hood for almost nine miles, the Daily Mail reported.

Police were able to pull the truck over and take the man into custody. He was taken to Wellington Regional Hospital for evaluation, authorities said.

No reason has yet been given for the man’s strange behavior. The Highway Patrol did not say if the man or the truck driver would be charged.

for assholery. Clearly that dude was on drugs or incapacitated in some form. The trucker should have pulled over and kicked him off instead of continuing to drive.

I'm not sure it was the best thinking to try to shake the guy off your truck on the highway, but yeah, if you climb on a guy's truck and try to break through his windshield the driver gets a pass on whatever he does to get you away from him.

Pull over and risk being attacked? Ya, **** you. Keep the vehicle moving enough to keep his hands busy and if his dumb ass falls off before the cops catch up to you, good.

On the subject of crazy people, I went out for a run this weekend, and I usually go to this mega-rich neighborhood that's close to where I live. It's got big wide streets and low population density, and I like to look at the architecture of the mansions.

Generally the only people I see are rich people out for walks, but this weekend I'm cruising down the street and I hear yelling. Loud yelling. Like domestic disturbance yelling or something. I was trying to figure out where it was coming from, and then I see some low-rent dirty vagrant come around the corner. He was yelling with malice, lots of f-bombs and other stuff that I couldn't understand, and he wouldn't stop.

Like I said, the streets are really wide and I was on the other side, so I kept going towards him, but keeping an eye on him. He was acting like he was going to kill somebody, but he was facing down a side street so I figured I'd slip by him. But then he turned around and saw me, and I thought he was going to charge me. Screaming and yelling and threats and f-bombs and I just kept running straight ahead, pretending that he didn't exist.

Fortunately, he decided not to attack me and he just started walking, continuing to yell. I curled around and went down the side street that he'd been yelling at, and there was a woman there watering the lawn of her mansion. I said, "Are you okay?", and she calmly said, "Well, that guy was clearly on drugs or something." And she kept on watering.

I was kind of flummoxed. That crazy dude was terrifying, and this woman never left her yard while he was yelling at her.
