I really like Berry, but considering his contract and his injury history (not his fault)... it hasn't been good value for the chiefs.

Regardless in the end it doesn't matter if Pat Mahomes can do what he needs to do.

With the way the rules favor QBs now, I truly believe that the recipe for success is to never pay more than 10-15% over the average for any position except for QB and OL. Save all that money on star players at other positions, spend it on a premium QB and OL, and watch the titles roll in.

Typically that strategy will still leave you with money in the coffers for a franchise defensive player or two. Or some wiggle room to "overpay" for a couple free agents.
