The Alex move turned out great for kc in all honesty. Did what we needed him to do. Ideally we would have had a mahomes type ready to go this year. Who knows how long Andy thought he could get out of Alex before moving on. Right now though over the past five or so games Alex is making the decision next year very easy.

People will say, "you HAVE to let your coach do what he wants to do".

Um, no. No you do not. For better or worse there are examples of ownership telling the coach/GM what the new direction is going to be, and hopefully, you the owner and the new coach laid that ground rule down BEFORE you hired the mother****ers in question:
"I'm the owner".
"This is what I want".
"My last two GM's/Coaches kept bringing in vets and retreads for the QB position, and it has not yielded fruit".
"I want to draft and develop that position".
"You prefer to work with vets rather than developing a rookie"? "Perhaps you aren't the right man for the job".

Gee, look how HARD that is!

It wasn’t Alex.

This OLine has gotten soft. Can’t blame him for that.

The offensive line had one of it's better days in pass protection today.

I would tend to agree.

WTF happened to the run blocking though? Or is Kareem Hunt just not all that good?

Nope the OLine got no push today.

It’s all the OLine.

Don't give a rat's ass about the run game.

This is a QB driven league, and despite the fact that this O-Line did it's job in pass protect, Alex Smith sucked like a goddamn whore who sucks chrome.

He isn't getting opportunities, the defense is selling out on everything closer to the los

Ya this. Teams stop the run and Alex Smith doesn't pose a threat in the passing game they're scared of. Teams also are keying on the shovel pass and Andy love affair for a gimmick trick play. They don't full anyone because Alex Smith doesn't sell it.

If you were working up a defensive plan for the KC offense, would you key on Alex and let Hunt beat you? Or key on Hunt and let Alex beat himself?

Key in on Alex.

Isn't Alex like the 3rd most winningest QB since 2011 behind only Brady and Rodgers? Do you think teams ignore Brady and Rodgers when playing the Patriots and Packers? Nope.

Gotta stop Alex from going deep.
