*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I don't post that to suggest his words guarantee anything, but it made me realize that it is kinda funny how so many just automatically jump to the conclusion that we're destined to take a step back next year and that Mahomes will look like a rookie... not everyone expects that. But it seems to be the mean of expectations.

Its a little strange given how many young, first year QBs we've seen in recent memory go out and kill the competition when they were given a great situation to step into. It's hard to imagine a much better coaching + surrounding cast combo than the Chiefs have for 2PM in his first year. Hopefully they can improve even more this offseason with a few moves.

Kid has a real chance to blow the roof off of the league in 2018 IMO.

I fully expect, after what we have all seen and the reviews that confirm what I saw, that Mahomes will light it up next year. I'm confident that statistically, he will have much better stats than Smith's numbers for 4 out of 5 years as a Chief and it wouldn't surprise me if he's better than Smith had this year. He is going to be special.

Our eyes are about to be opened to a brave new world.

Too many days spent wasted slumbering in the pitch black of mediocre QB play and lowered expectations for the passing game.

The day is about to dawn and it will ignite like white-hot sunfire.

We will no longer surrender this franchise to the false song of game managers.

We will not go quietly into the postseason night.

We will not vanish without a fight.

We're going to play on!

We're going to survive!

TODAY! OR MAYBE LIKE ON DRAFT DAY OR SOMETHING!!! WE CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI DAY!!!

He will probably throw 3X as many picks as Alex next year, but I don’t give a shit because he’ll probably tie or break Alex’s career high TD’s of 26.

27 TD’s
15 INT’s
4,000 yards
60% completion rating

I would be thrilled with that from his first year.

It's as obvious as a setting sun:

The sun is setting on Smith's career as a Chief and will be in full nightfall before we get to camp.

Adios, game-o managerio! So long, wetto!

Not sure why he included Campbell. Wasn't a fan. Stats are pretty meh.

This. Hope the kid stays humble and composed after some real time of taking hits and throwing the passes that simply happen. He can be special, if his composure and dedication holds up.

To show both sides and not just cherry pick I would hope. Pretty encouraging numbers although Pat is his own guy. Even without this I think I would still had solid expectations that he can keep the ship going in the right direction, even in year one.
