Eh, at least with Cousins you know exactly what you're getting. He's better than JAG. A legit top-12 NFL QB. With a rook, you have no idea how that'll pan out. ATL has been rolling 7-10 three seasons in a row now with below-average QB play. Kirk should be efficient enough to get them another 2 or 3 Ws, which should get them into the playoffs. Something they haven't been able to do for, what is it, 5-6 seasons now?

And they have a nice pile of good young talent at WR and RB, along with a decent defense. They need to become a playoff team again asap, before they waste all those cheap contracts. Cousins is good enough to get them there, if he's 100% recovered from his Achilles injury.


Though $45 million/yr AAV just seems nuts to me. Basically, they're saying that he's better than Stafford.

Cousins will throw for thirty five touchdowns a year and 4500 yards (with six picks). He's Drew Bree's-lite. GTFO with the Alex Smith nonsense. Um, not to burst your bubble, because you're on a roll, kind of like when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, but you should google Cousins' playoff record.
