When the Cleveland Browns once accidentally broadcasted porn in their facility...

Interesting story on ESPN.com about the epic dysfunction within the Cleveland Browns franchise during the past few years under Jimmy Haslam's ownership, highlighted by this story:

Quote:
The Browns now were breaking the rules and losing, leading to even more public mocking. The outside anger was felt inside the building. Marketing executives wanted employees to see how fans were engaging with the Browns on social media, so they projected the Browns feed onto a giant wall at the facility. It was like broadcasting talk radio over the entire building, and one day in particular, it was worse than that. One of the marketing staffers entered a search for #dp -- for Dawg Pound. The problem was, that hashtag carried a few different meanings, one of which triggered an array of porn to be broadcast onto a wall for the entire office to see for more than 20 minutes, until a tech employee killed the feed.

The Browns were probably just happy to see someone else getting pounded in their stadium for once.

I accidentally did that in class. Small school in Iowa. When the internet was young in the classroom 1996 or so. and there was no such thing as filters/adblock/popup blockers, extended desktops etc.

I was at a NASA site showing pics from Apollo missions, replaced Apollo 11 with 16, not Apollo 16,

Wooo Howdy.

Images came up, pop ups happened, Had to shut off the computer to make it stop.
talked to the kids and they knew it was not intentional. We all laughed. It is Middle School.

Told the principal. We had a laugh.

A few weeks later, had teacher conferences and a school board member was in to talk about his kid.

He said "heard you had a little problem with the internet a few weeks ago." He laughed and said "well, I guess we need to be cautious of new technology." End of issue.

If that happened today, in the school district I am in-there would be a formal review and I may get fired. I always tell teachers to use extended desktops and searches on your own screen, not the viewable screen.

Some teachers will not use extended desktop because-it is too hard. or will not Pic mute the screen.

Come on-if that is the case-you do not deserve to be a teacher or do not deserve to use technology.

All because schools and school districts are scared to death of getting sued into oblivion by some overzealous parent looking for a quick payday, leaning on the "emotional scarring" their kids had to "endure". It's all horseshit - mistakes get made. And that's not even mentioning how these righteous parents get drunk and fight in front of their kids (most likely).

Teachers are NOT paid enough in this day and age. Not even close.

Thanks. Thinking about leaving. Got hit in the face a few weeks ago-buy a 7th grade GIRL. Told District admin that my wife wants me to quit. They are begging for me to stay because of my reputation in the district.

Went to the school board-and changes and support are already being made. Our district #2 is not messing around. She is a doer not a talker. I digress.

That should have been an automatic expulsion for the girl, and her parents can go **** themselves when they came screaming about it to the board. I hope it happened (even though I know it didn't).

Good luck, man. I hope they change it for the better for you guys.

I would have been knocked out if I had done that to my first grade teacher. She did NOT play, lol.

It's just going to take balls by a school district to back their teachers when stupid shit like this gets pulled by out of control students. You can't let the inmates rule the asylum, as it were.

Kid gets suspended one day, goes back to class, flips out again, gets suspended a day, goes back to class, flips out again ... This has happened since day one. It's not just about my wife, the teacher. The girl is making it difficult for the other students in class who want to learn. The girl has psychological problems, but rather than removing her from the class and putting her somewhere where she can get help, she keeps getting thrown back into the mainstream class.

Sorry for the hijack.

DP sounds like a good representation of what the team and management have been doing to season ticket holders in Cleveland for 3 decades.
