There won't be one among the team. Alex has played well enough where a good game from Mahomes wouldn't stir anything. If Alex was struggling I could understand Andy not playing Mahomes. I would imagine the experience is worth it but we shall see.

I agree he is trash but I don't thing the chiefs will want to stir anything up and they will spin it as not wanting to get Pat hurt or him not being ready. I personally hopes he plays and lights it up!!

That would be stupid. Mahomes earned his backup job too Alex Smith beating out Tyler Bray that would get his agent involved and we could have a real problem with Mahomes wanting to be a Chief. That's stupid he wants to play let him play.

I’m not sure I’d play Mahomes in a meaningless game this late in the year.

I probably would lean towards having the kid wait. Too much riding on next year and if the kid years a knee or has a major injury in a meaningless game...Plus, Denver has shown they aren’t above cheap shots and I’m sure they’d love to end this year hurting Mahomes on a late hit to a knee.

isnt it pretty standard to rest your QB if your playoff spot is secured and can't change with a win or loss?

I respect you Boss but come on. What if Alex Smith goes down in the first quarter in our playoff game and we have to put Patrick in there with absolutely no experience after preseason?

We can play the what if game all day and untill he gets experience he is still a virgin. Pop his cherry and he will be fine.

The meaningless games that come with injury risk are the same as preseason games. Do people not want him playing in the preseason next year if he is the starter? Do those preseason games really trump the experience he would get this Sunday?

The Chiefs franchise is the only franchise not to draft and start a first round draft pick in over 30 years. Yes that shows ineptness for this Franchise.
