Why Mahomes isn’t the only answer to KC’s passing problems

Some interesting information in this article.

TL/DR - The Chiefs appear to have become a run-first, run-often, ball control offense.

Or that’s what defenses have dictated so far.

Maybe if Skyy Moore grew 8 inches and didn’t suck the passing offense would look better

Kansas City has run the football on first down 55.4% of the time through three weeks. The average of Mahomes’ initial six seasons is 46.4%.

Gross.

Well, I mean, if they're going to drop 7 with two deep safeties, yeah, you have to run them out of it.

We have Mahomes, but it's still football.

The Chiefs are never going to run anybody out of it. They're just not going to let Mahomes beat them.

Well, that's a certain way to lose the game, too-and we need to execute and hit the shots when they're there. We're winning despite NOT getting that part done.

If we were executing better, we'd have won by two scores the last two weeks.

So the opposition's plan is to drop seven with two deep safeties and make us execute.

I don't know why this is confusing to people. Do people think we're supposed to drop back 50 times a game anyway? Just throw posts every down no matter what?

It's a numbers game. You RUN against light boxes, utilize play action, and hit your shots when they're there.

It's still football.

The only thing WRONG with the offense is execution.

There are big plays there multiple times per game. We're not executing. This isn't like last year, when nobody could get open and Toney's popping it up for pick sixes. This is just simply NOT hitting open big plays.

I totally agree. We are in the same spot as the Bills - nobody is going to let these QBs beat them. We need to dish out more big running plays and make them pay.
