****OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread****

Have been banned from the other thread by an apparently sensitive snowflake (ironically after dozens of pages of political discussion from others) so I'll stick my thoughts on the NBA Playoffs here from now on. We needed a new thread anyway.

It's a shame to watch a talented team like the Bucks repeatedly play such reeruned basketball. Budenholzer needs to **** off immediately.

On the opposite end, Trae Young is cementing himself as a true superstar, and he's a pretty damn good heel too.

One of the best offensive players in the game, there's no doubt. He's so bad defensively that the Bucks should be attacking him on screens virtually every play, though, which they're not doing. They're a stupid team run by a bad coach.

I think that's part of it for sure. You have a lot of new exciting teams and players; more importantly you have personalities. As great as LBJ , Durant and Harden are they don't have that charismatic personality that makes you want to watch like MJ, Magic Kobe, Barkley all had. We have had a league of Clyde Drexler personalities leading the way for too many years, Curry maybe the exception. So it's several factors but it's been fun and refreshing to watch. The NBA has a bright futures especially once it cleans up some of the flopping and jumping into guys to draw fouls type stuff.

Yeah, can't wait for the jumping into fouls shit to be solved. The Nba has had plenty of superstars to carry water. Lbj and curry have done huge things for the nba brand. But there's fatigue. Same teams winning all the time and all these super teams.

But the timing is also great for this. Fans back in the stands at the right moment. I know new England loves to brag about their fans but you just can't beat the craziness of the Chiefs and blues winning a super bowl after decades of failure. The fan bases left in the playoffs are pumped up beyond belief. The crowd reaction to the suns ending was incredible.

He is a fun marketable personality on the court. My wife usually will only watch the NBA if he is playing.

That being said the NBA doesn't do as good of a job marketing their stars as they once did. Damn near every star or group had cool nicknames, posters and apparel.
The Admiral, Sir Charles, Larry Legend, Hakeem The Dream, The Mailman, Clyde the Glyde, Air Jordan, The Diesel, The Truth, The Black Mamba, Mount Motombo Run TLC, The Bad Boys, etc.....
Except Ewing....no way to market that stiff.

Not a fan of him but he's crazy exciting to watch. You know kids everywhere have been chucking up threes trying to be curry. The splash Brothers no doubt made the game more exciting.
