****Official LOL at the British Thread****

I've taken quite a few potshots at Womble and other brits here through the years. I figure we may as well have a dedicated thread for all things Brit failure. Please feel free to add any and all hilarious british things here. Like how poor they are, or how bad their teeth are, or needing 124 licenses to exist! I'll start us off with a FB group I'm in sharing an illegal weapon!!!

Is everything pudding over there? Is it because of the teeth?

Mate I’m British and the last thing you want to do is get into a debate about British food.

It’s universally derided for good reason and you will just dig yourself into a bigger hole trying to justify it.

But where are those uniquely British main courses?

Beef, chicken, lamb, pork, seafood... you're an island nation ffs, surely you have a killer seafood game beyond fish & chips?

Start the British foods thread, its will be educational and a great distraction during these offseason doldrums

We have nothing. Zero. Any good food in Europe exists in France or Italy or Spain. Hell I had more interesting culinary experiences in Germany and Austria.

I've had some great food in London.

None of it was British food though.

First time I traveled to the UK in 2003 I visited Cornwall and their big claim to culinary fame was the Cornish Pasty. Tried a few and thought they were ok but they were pretty much jumbo hot pockets. Sure they are great in a pinch if you’re hungry but nothing to write home about. Nothing wrong with a full English breakfast, I like the style of fattier bacon over crisp bacon like in the states. A lot of Americans get fussy about the beans being included in a full English but I kind of like it if I’m being honest.

It probably would have been best if you'd left out the "I'm British" part because it means you've got no excuse for your ignorance and snobbery. I'll take your comments on our bland food with a pinch of salt. Feel free to give me some feedback on my upcoming British food porn thread that I'm sure will be received remarkably well on here.

I can't say I'm surprised by what you've said either. As I've grown older I've come to realise that a large proportion of the middle class in my city are supercilious spastics who have no love for their country and know nothing of it. People so anti-English that they would sooner guillotine their own mother than sing the National Anthem. There's plenty of shitty things about this place but I don't like how it's become some kind of taboo to say anything positive about the country. You saying we have nothing to offer from a culinary standpoint is a case in point and it's a ****ing stupid thing to say.

The first entry in your British food porn thread should be Beef Wellington, I've never had it but it has a good reputation... I'm sure the outer crust keeps the beef moist

I basically agree, I'll only defend it half-heartedly against guys here when they pretend like their food is not largely hyper-processed s***. You can take it from the French, Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Thai. Anyone else
