The "Cam Erving Effect" ... recently replaced by the "Wylie Effect".

It plays havoc on the tackles.

I think it's more of a "Schwartz looks a step slower these days" effect.

You may very well be right.

The Bolts rush made him look bad.

On the other hand, Mahomes' deep drifty drops aren't helping.

Normally, Schwartz would push the outside guy and let him go wide, then recover to clean up as the rusher overshoots.

Just finished the first half of the Chargers game All-22. Pat literally did nothing wrong with how he handled his pocket presence. Every time he dropped back far was the result of a collapsed pocket. The interior line is getting their asses kicked that whole first half. If he doesn't drop nack hes getting killed. Geoff can **** right off.

Mahomes can do what he wants. everyone has to adjust to him. that's how it works now that we have the Golden God at QB.

Yep. Need only look at the Super Bowl to dismiss this argument. If Patrick does not drift, WASP does not happen...

I can’t find a vid, but the ESPN guys were commenting on him drifting/abandoning the pocket instead of stepping up on one play last night. Anyone remember this? Is it a concern?

The Schwartz bros were clearly the biggest critics of this last season. I’ll wait until dudes like that start making that critique of Pat with this line rather than some doofuses on ESPN who will look at any time Pat moves from the pocket as confirmation of that talking point from last season.

Yeah on the INT it looked like Mahomes had a clean pocket to step up into, but instead he bailed and ran around.

It sure looked like he could have stepped up.

However, the tv feed view can be misleading. You really can't tell what he was dealing with unless you have his eye line.

We need a Mahomes 3D Helm Cam View in order to make this determination.

There's also the issue of Hardman's route running last night. Taking Tyreek's spot on short notice wasn't easy for Hardman (that was obvious).

Maybe Mahomes' trust in Hardman had significantly devolved by that point in the game.

looked like he had a clear touchdown to Hardman. But, he ran out.

He knows he needs to work on this. Running for your life the majority of your time in the NFL doesn’t help. Probably see him stay more often as the trust of the OL improves.
