This is the main reason I think Edwards is gone. We have Reid, Cook, Conner, and Nazeeh.

Huh?

Edwards had 57% of the snaps on defense this year. Or 621 snaps in total.

To put this into perspective, that is 621 more snaps than Nazeeh Johnson has had on defense for the Chiefs ever. He has literally had ZERO snaps on defense.

How the **** can you deduce that this guy is the main reason Edwards is gone? Lmao

I think that this kid was the Chiefs insurance for Sneed. He is every bit as athletic as him. He's stronger and bigger but he is a couple inches shorter. Played safety and corner like Sneed too.

Sneed obviously increased his value 10 fold this year. If the Chiefs decide to trade or not pay him, then this kid would likely take his reps

Remember he earned 1st team reps in camp and Spags had glowing reviews of him before he got hurt.

Each spring, the NFL holds a draft in which players from the NCAA enter into a pool, and NFL teams take turns selecting from that pool of players. The worse your record was the previous year, the earlier you get to make your selection. Each team, barring forfeitures due to rule breaking, receives one selection per round for seven rounds. Compensatory picks are also awarded at the ends of rounds 3-7 for having your minority assistants hired as head coaches by other teams and for teams whose free agents signed with other teams outweigh in terms of contract dollar values the players that team brought in during free agency. From there, teams can trade their picks for other players and other draft picks in the current draft or future drafts.

In the spring of 2022, the Kansas City Chiefs had a pick in the 7th round (259th overall) and they decided to select Nazeeh Johnson, who played defensive back for Marshall when he was in college. That's the player you didn't know about.

Oftentimes, the draft is a large part of a team's personnel-building strategy. Even picks in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th are viewed as valuable assets that teams can use to find good players, so if you're a fan of your team and you want to keep tabs on how they're doing and where they'll be going in future seasons, you should familiarize yourself with the rundown of your favorite team's draft selections from that year. My favorite team is the Kansas City Chiefs, so I happened to know who Nazeeh Johnson was off the top of my head, because I knew his name from the list of draft picks the Chiefs made in the 2022 draft.

Hope that helps!

I'd be pretty surprised if the Chiefs thought this guy can play corner in place of Sneed with his 3-cone drill.

Not sure why you're being a cock but anyway would love to hear anything about Nazeeh converting to corner that isn't just you thinking it.

Am I way off or was he not ahead of Watson and Williams at corner in camp?

Dude is definitely a baller and was showing it big time before his injury. Played like a vet. Very much like Sneed's beginnings IIRC. When I heard he got hurt it was a big disappointment for sure because this guy actually "plays tough football". Love his instinct and playmaking skills.

Nazeeh was going to play a LOT. If he's healthy, he's another great DB for Spags to use wherever. If somebody else wants to pay Edwards, have at it.
