Did you? Typically here in Missouri I've seen them be very harsh on DUI guys. Seen guys who's only trouble in life have been 3 or 4 non-accident duis get slammed by the parole board because MADD had a random rep in the hearing.

MADD must be out of pocket lining money.

Wait what? I'll need someone to cite the average sentence of drunken drivers who almost kill children. There's no way it's less than 3 years. Especially with his previous legal issues.

Here's a PDF of the commutation order. The duration of his sentence isn't changed, but he's under house arrest now instead of in prison. Also lots of conditions around parole and community service. But still.

House arrest is nothing compared to prison.

Man, if the sentence was harsher than others convicted of the same crime, they probably oughta work on how they're sentencing other people.

Seems to me that getting a whopping 3 years for slamming drunk into a vehicle and damn near killing a kid oughta not elicit a 'woah, that's pretty harsh' from anyone.

And realistically, 3 years for Britt Reid isn’t the same as 3 years for one of us.

He’s set for life regardless with generational wealth headed his way someday (if not immediately).

This isn’t like someone going to prison for 3 years then struggling to find employment and how to support himself in all aspects of society.
