*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Heard a great interview with Leigh steinberg, mahomes agent. Important to remember that mahomes is keeping his endorsements at a minimum for 2 years before they really let him loose. The NFL has to know this too.

Mahomes is so far from where he will be as an nfl brand. He's as popular as we've seen in Kansas city but the guy has steph curry potential in terms of marketability. And the NFL hasn't had a ton of marketable superstars so that's a huge deal. The super bowl is his kickoff party. He's going to be more than a household name in a few years.

Who cares. By the time it's all said and done, Kansas City will be Americas team. The entire midwest, Oklahoma, and Texas will be red.

Where the hell did they come up with this naive slightly uneducated version of Mahomes?

"Geez man! Lighten up! It's just a cartoon!"

It's a caricature. There's nothing wrong with caricatures. They're intended to exaggerate quirks of people. They have the potential to reveal overlooked truths. Or just be comical and silly by slam dunking on the obvious. The voice thing is that way. It's silly and over the top, and it's funny. I like the Mahomes voice thing. That's fine.

But they got him behaving like an empty-headed idiot half the time.

Why does he get that personality on this cartoon, and yet Lamar Jackson is the tenacious fearless aggressive workaholic who doesn't have time for anybody's bullshit? Yeah, I'm sure Lamar works hard. You know who works hard AND actually knows what the **** he's doing on the field? Pat Mahomes.

Okay, sorry. I'll shut up and stop being the overly sensitive dweeb who's ruining the fun for everybody.

Vrabel said that on Mahomes' key touchdown run against them that they had 2 guys doubled and a spy on Mahomes. Assuming the doubles were on Hill and Kelce, the Titans had the best defense possible.

Mahomes just beat the spy and found his way into the endzone with a great run.

His little head fake he gave the Titans defender gave him just enough of window to get to the corner and get down the sidelines.

These critics are idiots. If you play him straight up he goes out of bounds and kills the clock. If you stop him short of the goal line we get the ball on the goal line and use a timeout with one to spare. So basically the entire premise is built on the idea that mahomes will get his bell so rung up that he botches a gimme scoring opportunity. Well, one safety tried to hit him hard and fast and completely whiffed. Another stripped the ball and successfully got the ball out but mahomes miraculously held on to it.

Plain and simple, mahomes just made a good play. And even if the Titans make a play mahomes had a huge window to score anyway. Talk about overthinking a play to avoid giving credit to mahomes.
