Honestly it’s a good thing in that way cause people go to the ER all the damn time for mi or shit they should go to urgent care for
Wife had a friend whos dad broke his leg. Got surgery but no one was allowed to go in to the hospital with him.

Report last night says that all Minnesota hospitals combined are losing 31 million dollars a day by not having elective surgeries. Remember We have Mayo. people come in from all over the world for that place.

That's not what I'm arguing at all

You are comparing the overall CFR of a pandemic influenza year to a low CFR age bracket of Covid-19. You are completely ignoring the age brackets with higher CFRs, and ignoring the temporal aspect of the data.

Estimates range from 60-80k for US deaths that season. Admittedly that was one of the worst seasons in years but that was the exactly what I was referring to.

I think some of this “bad flu season” was covid19

Yes I am, that is clear in what I posted. You are pulling a Hamas now and changing the subject. You, like him, tried to argue that what I posted was false. Please back that up or retract it now that you have possibly had a chance to read what I actually wrote.

Or answer the question and provide YOUR metric for easing restrictions.

The policy is in regards to cardiac arrest in the field and resuscitation by EMS. If return of spontaneous circulation is not achieved in the field, the patient is no longer being transported to the hospital. The patient is declared dead in the field.

Believe it or not, there is a lot of evidence to support this, you cannot do high quality CPR in the back of an ambulance, and if return of circulation does not occur in the field it is very unlikely to occur in the hospital. I'm not certain, but I believe there are already EMS systems that have this policy in place, and it has nothing to do with Covid-19

They had stated it on the evening news last night and indeed I could have misinterpreted what they stated.

You're not wrong, I'm just not sure what to do with the information you are posting.

I'll agree with you, the CFR of people under 35 (not under age 50) with Covid-19 is similar to the overall CFR of a pandemic influenza year. For people over 35, it is much different.

I don't have a metric for easing restrictions. I have no formal training in regards to that and wouldn't know where to start.

Nothing wrong with being emotional from time to time. We aren't robots.

Either way not a big deal. The professionals who are making the decisions about social distancing take the lives of the 'weak' seriously.
