WTF is with the defense?

That's 2 games in a row they really didn't do a ****ing thing. Carr had all ****ing night to throw. Guys are dropping shoulders and not wrapping up. YAC is killing us. Receivers are running wide open.

I will give them some credit in that I thought they stopped the run fairly well against the Raiders.

No pass rush
No tackling
No attitude

WTF?

Wow this is by far the dumbest post of the last 24 hours, and that says A LOT.

In no way do I want to suggest that the defense was good enough last night because it wasn’t, but, upon rewatching this video of highlights and focusing on the pass rush, I was actually surprised how close they were to Carr on several plays: https://youtu.be/3xccQ_kxVhc

Carr just balled out and it shows when you look at every play. Some of it even a little lucky I’m sure. Seems to me also that we could never get pressure in two areas — if it came off the edge, he stepped up. If it came up the middle, he could checkdown or get outside the pocket.

Yep.

The defense wasn't good last night but it's time to face the fact that Carr understands Gruden's offense - he's not the same QB he used to be. In fact, go look at his rating trend from 2014 until this year:

76.6, 91.1, 96.7, 86.4, 93.9, 100.8, 108.7

After I watched that whole video, I think he played even better last night than the first game. Some of those plays were not easy at all. There were like 3 throws to Agholor alone that I was like.... damn.

We just need our pass rush to work on the same page better. In that game it was like they weren’t rushing with any plan, and we could never win in multiple matchups at the same time.

It did feel like that every third down was a 1st down for the Raiders. Defense was on the field a real long time.

That's why we needed to run so much. Our D was gassed.

Carr is a pretty good QB...Gruden has taught him well.

We all thought he did.

He's still not all-world but he's definitely in that Alex Smith territory. Gruden has done one hell of a job with him.

He's a high-end system QB.

Was it Colin Cowherd? Saw this crazy stat on our D. We allow 17 points a game to the rest of the NFL and 35 points a game to the Raiders.

Our defensive line might as well have not existed in the Raiders game. The Raiders offensive line shut them down completely. It was sad.

The Chiefs made a major mistake not going after Carlos Dunlap and Yannick Ngakoue at the trade deadline. Adding those 2 guys would improve our RDE position drastically. It would have also allowed rotation for Frank Clark.

The way the league is going with favoring offense pretty much every NFL QB is going to be considered good. Getting a little ridiculous.

Yeah, and Orlovsky pointed it out too this morning when he said not to over analyze the situation and understand that the Raiders are built specifically to match up with the Chiefs.

He also said he has zero doubt the Chiefs will win the SB again, which is interesting from a third person POV.

The defense played really bad, hopefully, this is a wake-up call and they at least get some stops against the Bucs.

I think this defense feeds a lot off of the crowd. They’ve already said before that it’s hard to get the same energy in an empty stadium.
