According to the AAP, they strongly suggest that policy considerations should start with the goal of having students physically present. They go on to say that unfortunately, due to SARS CoV 2, this cannot occur safely in many jurisdictions.

They have a really nice statement at the AAP website.

This has to be a bit behind the curve.

They just this week tested 600+ kids coming back to school at Missouri Southern University and had 7 positives. 1.1%.

It's pretty much 4 curves that look like a normal distribution centered around early july

Things are definitely improving in AZ. Keep in mind that the state is not counting positive or negative results that are received by fax due to the data collection burden. I think I read that that 25 percent of results are faxed.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.azc...amp/5587283002

This probably doesn't effect positivity rates

I’d like to see recent serology #s

Seems once they hit 20 this thing falls off a cliff. If you have 2 mild infections that never seroconvert but have a T cell response and action, that puts you about 60% immune

Agree 100%, I definitely already see the sociological drawbacks of isolation regarding my kiddos, and the wife and I are trying to responsibly socialize both our children without risking their well being or their cousins/friends.

There have been times during the pandemic when the wife and I have both agreed full on in person school was a better option for both of our children, but I don't know that its a better option for the teachers, administrators, or multi-generational living households. That's why this is such a complicated topic of discussion. No one size fits all. Our school district has given us the option to go all in online or in person, we opted for the latter even with the success of online learning.
