I have a trip to Tahoe scheduled for this weekend to chase the storm, but it's looking like it'll probably be too much, sadly. Probably going to have to cancel.

Fire and ridiculous wind is a ****ing horror show.

In 2012 there was a big fire by Johnson, KS and that crazy bitch was moving 43 MPH. Obviously they had to put it out with tractors and disks and the fastest a tractor will go is 26.

**** that.

It was 72 earlier today, now it's 42. Supposed to be down around 20 by 8:00.

And then in a few days, back up in the 70s.

As far as I can remember, we've gone the entire month of February with almost no measurable snow fall; got a bit of rain here and there, but it really hasn't been cold enough for anything more than that, except some light flurries that barely stuck the grass and melted immediately. Strange, but I'll take it over a typical one.

Thanks. It was no big deal where I was. Glad I wasn't out driving in it, though.

Who wants to start the Texas fire thread? It's massive.

Most of the people I know live in Gruver, Perryton, etc, just north of it.

Hog?

Yeah, the whole East side of the panhandle up in flames going into Oklahoma now. The cold front seemed to hold the smoke down at ground lever creating an unsurvivable environment. Lots of towns evacuated.

Had to drive an hour to Amarillo yesterday and the trucks were really leaning. Very stressful drive

Yes, They evacuated it and told only essential personnel to stay. I heard it is storing more plutonium than what it was designed for right now
