Wasn't sure where to put this, it could fit in many threads, or if there's enough interest I may move it into it's own. But finally getting around to watching Five Came Back, the documentary series on the big Hwood directors dropping everything to document the WWII effort.

Reviews started to come out today, and so far they are amazing. It's early but at 97% of Rotten Tomatoes. 37 positive, 1 negative. Multiple reviewers saying it's the best film of the year so far, and some saying it's the best war movie in decades. The hype train is going to be hard to live up to.

Watching Christopher Nolan movies is well worth spending money for. I'm going to see this for sure.

I saw the 10 minute trailer in IMAX before Rogue One last December.

I vote IMAX.

70mm is how Nolan intended the film...it's basically super wide screen. I'd recommend that over imax unless it's 70mm imax. You don't see 70mm film often

I saw it at Universal Studios, so it was definitely 70mm and IMAX.

I can't vouch for other theaters.

Ahhh...epic then. Only theater that had it in 70mm imax is in STL. The local theater in overland Park KS has it in 70mm atleast so I can't complain. Hopefully I'll see a 70mm in imax glory someday..

1 hr 46 min runtime for a Nolan film. Is this an internet wide misprint?

I mentioned earlier in this thread that this is Nolan's shortest film to date

It's a straightforward historical story - no need for a multi-layered, needlessly and ridiculously labyrinthine plot. Thank God for that.
