Jerry Jones would have that mayor assassinated before he'd see another NFL team move into his backyard.

I haven't read the entire thread so apologies if someone else has mentioned this, but it seems like it would be foolish to move the Chiefs to Dallas. It would be very similar to the Chargers moving to LA. The people in LA are not Chargers fans and probably never will be. They are an afterthought in a town that roots for either the Rams or the Raiders.

The Dallas mayor… who looks like a Reeruned publicity whore… has supposedly been pushing for a second NFL franchise in the area for a while.

But it seems impossible to see Jerry Jones allowing that to happen.

And Clark is very aware of his father’s legacy… the idea of moving the franchise back to the city that essentially ignored/rejected his father’s team… even if it was in a different era… can’t see that ever happening.

Just a few among the MANY reasons why this move will likely never happen.

If Clark can earn exactly $1 more by moving the team to anywhere than what can be earned staying in KC, then the rational decision is to move.

It's business. Nothing more, nothing less.

That's incredibly cynical. The legacy of this historic franchise and Lamar Hunt, Norma Hunt, all matters a ton to Clark.

Financial benefits are also not that easily measurable. You lose what, 70% of your massive fan base? Probably have to rebrand with a new name...suddenly you're basically the Chargers. What are the downstream effects of that?

The repeated Chargers comparison isn't applicable here.

Angelinos are trained to look down on San Diego. Absent a shiny new destination like Sofi, no one was trekking to East LA to watch some San Diego schmucks.

If he moved the entire franchise for $1 more he would be insane. It is a business, but it's not JUST a business.

The word is he wants a stadium that rivals Allegiant and only Texas can give him that.
