2018 "What I Want" Mock Draft

I'm not gonna get too in-depth on the players, you know who they are, and I won't muddle this up with highlight vids... So, here goes...

2.054 - Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn
6'1" 206 40YD: 4.44/4.53 3CONE: 7.30 VERT: 34.0" BENCH: 16
I'm going a bit against my own thought process here, but I've noticed a trend of pushing corners down the board a bit by many analysts. While I think there's a more likely than not chance that Davis is gone by now, I do think he's the 7th best CB in this draft and that means he very well could be here, or within short striking distance. Davis fits that aggressive press corner type that it seems the Chiefs want to go back to employing.

3.078 - Breeland Speaks, DE, Mississippi
6'3" 283 40YD: 4.87 3CONE: 7.63 VERT: 32.5" BENCH:?
I love Speaks' burst off the edge and overall play. He's a perfect 3-4 DE prospect that can create havoc up front and force teams to account for him. He's very much like a more polished and aggressive version of Allen Bailey coming out.

3.086 - Cole Madison, OT/G, Washington State
6'5" 308 40YD: 5.33 3CONE: 7.86 VERT: 28.5: BENCH: 26
I've been on Madison for a while now and I love his traits in pass protection and as a mover in space. His experience at tackle makes him a quality swing option for the Chiefs who lack quality depth there, but he'll slide inside as a starter. Madison has quietly risen up draft boards over the past few weeks.

4.122 - Dane Cruikshank, S, Arizona
6'1" 209 40YD: 4.41 3CONE: 6.89 VERT: 38.5" BENCH: 25
Cruikshank impressed me with his move from corner to safety this season in a big way. With his aggressiveness and seeing things happen, he developed into a play-maker. He comes downhill in run support in a hurry and has coverage ability in the slot or over the top. His struggles at corner were largely due to squeezing the boundary and focusing on the man rather than the ball. Those deficiencies are masked at safety. His combine shot him up the board, but he has legitimate talent as well.

4.124 - Dalton Schultz, TE, Stanford
6'5" 244 40YD: 4.75 3CONE: 7.00 VERT: 32.0" BENCH: 15
Schultz is the very definition of quality in-line tight end given his solid fundamentals as both a blocker and receiver. He doesn't have elite, seam-stretching athleticism, but he does everything right to get open underneath and has reliable hands (unlike Harris...).

6.196 - Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, EDGE, Toledo
6'1" 248 40YD: 4.83 3CONE: 7.21 VERT: 31.5" BENCH: 26
Adeniyi doesn't have the elite size nor elite physical traits, but what he does have is very good burst off the snap, good strength, good conversion of speed to power, and elite bend off the edge. He may take some time to develop as anything more than a situational pass rusher, but he has the traits to at least supplant Frank Zombo.

7.233 - Zach Sieler, DE, Ferris State
6'6" 288 40YD: 4.83 3CONE: 7.14 VERT: 29.0" BENCH: 31
I've had the pleasure of seeing this kid live a couple times and he's just lights out at his level (Div II). He was completely unblockable and flat-out dominate, so much so that he saw constant double-teams as a Junior and still piled up 79 tackles, 21 for a loss, and 7 sacks. He also comes from the same conference (GLIAC) as Brandon Carr and Matt Judon. I have a feeling this kid is going to be a huge steal. You better be one hell of a player to leave a D-II school a year early to declare for the draft, and he is.

7.243 - Richie James, WR, Middle Tennessee State
5'10" 183 40YD: 4.48 3CONE: 6.87 VERT: 35.5" BENCH: 6
James declared even after an injury-riddled Junior campaign, but his stats his first two seasons are absolutely mind-blowing. The Chiefs definitely need to bring in some stiff competition for the slot position and James fits every bit of that with good speed and outstanding lateral quickness, plus excellent route running and hands.
