So excited! He's the guy I really wanted, offense going to be electric!

...is that $10m against the cap or $16m?

It's not hard to see the good and bad in this. But without knowing Veach's plan for the rest of the offseason, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt here and just be ridiculously excited about the offensive weapons Mahomes is going to have at his disposal. Insane.

I wonder how the contract is structured.

Interesting coincidence that the Chiefs have $16M in dead money coming off the books next year.

True. Both teams had all they could handle from him in 3 years and sent his ass packing.

Like... seriously. With a 2nd and two 3rds, he better be able to find a NT and two CBs who don't suck from day one.

And he better find some goddamn DL depth somewhere in the rest of the picks.

We're so ****ing ****ed on D.

That's a high annual value but only 3 years. Smart.

I wonder why teams aren't doing this more. Player gets more $ guaranteed and the contract isn't an albatross.

And since Direkshun hates it you know its a slam dunk smart move.

With the right moves in free agency and the draft, the defense can be shored up.

No. **** it. Spend all the money on Watkins this year. Lower the hit in 2019 and 2020.

We need maneuverability to re-sign players and fill in gaps if we're going to take advantage of these cheap Mahomes years.

Like it or not, 2018 isn't the year we should be going all-in on.

Were paying him like he's a god damn superstar. wtf

The upside being it's two years but ideally we'd be extending Tyreek long term next year.
