When I heard we might sign Watkins, my first thought was yeah! that's a guy with a lot of upside. Not at 16 million though. Thats already an every year superstar money. I don't get it.
Those guys will get 24 to 25 milliin in a few years. Cap is skyrocketing every year. You can't compare past contracts. Keenum is getting 20 million for ****s sake and he has ZERO potential.

Also all this says to me is that the Chiefs obviously valued Watkins as a better player for their scheme than Robinson cause they probably could have had either.

I wanted Sammy. More explosive and he finally has a guy that can get him the ball. Goff was propped by a system and could not hit an open Sammy for shit.

But, we have no idea how these deals are structured and they could easily walk away from Bailey if an upgrade does occur there.

After I watched that thread of 2017 GIFs last night, I felt like Watkins was easily worth big money based on those alone. I mean he was getting good separation against the game’s best corners.

That's not true

1. He didn't want to be here; he's West Coast, mu-afuka. All the cornpone white folk out here don't understand his brand of swag...he wone go home.

2. He told all 32 teams (including the Chiefs) that the only long term deal he was willing to sign was with a west coast team in California.

So...why WOULD they pay that POS!?

Especially after the Jets game : forget what we saw; the whole slapping his mom/attacking Dave Toub/threatening to kill the team's bus driver/et al probably made what they all had to go through on Mon-Sat not worth the Sunday afternoon as a reward.

I'd have traded him for whatever I could get, while he's still worth something.
