Man, even if this ends up being a wash (which I don’t foresee because I think KO is a better player than LDT when both are healthy)... I’ll take him just for the nasty style he brings. He’s more of that intimidating type who wants to bury people, which LDT obviously wasn’t.

Just one more rather obvious move that Veach was fortunately smart enough to pounce on.

I think this move also tells us that they’d prefer Niang stay out at tackle. Andy mentioned Remmers as a G option yesterday, so I’d say he’s their Wisniewski 6th OL guy this year. Then you already have Wylie, Rankin, Allegretti, etc. who are all locked into the interior.

I’m good with that if they really think Niang is the future at LT. Get that development going and don’t **** it up.

This may finally be the year my guy Ryan Hunter finally puts it all together and becomes the starter!

Just kidding. Last preseason he was Mike McGlynn-level bad. I think he's a lost cause.

Man is he still on the roster? He was legit worse than McGlynn I think in his limited snaps.

Pretty much trust anything Veach and Reid out forth at the moment, but hope this doesn’t turn into Ben Grubbs, the sequel.

Dorsey traded a 5th round pick to Grubbs, then immediately gave him a 4 year $24 million dollar deal with $8 million guaranteed. Grubbs only appeared in 7 games, then was released at the end of the 2015 season.

Signing a street free agent to Vet Minimum with incentives up to $2 million dollars is absolutely nothing like trading for Grubbs.

This is wrong.

He played 4 years with the Ravens then signed w/ the Raiders as a free agent. The first 2 seasons (16 & 17) w/ the Raiders he made the Pro Bowl As well as being voted All Pro in 16. In 18 he didn’t play well possibly due to injury. Traded to the Jets in 19 and needed shoulder surgery and the Jets dicked him around about the injury as referenced earlier in the thread.

Can we talk about how this seems to signal the Chiefs seem to be showing signals that they want a different kind of interior OL play?

Used to be a more fluid, athletic types along the interior, Zach Fulton be damned. But they drafted Allegretti. They pursued Andrus Peat. They’ve signed Osemele. And they picked up Durant and Williams in UDFA. These are all bruisers.

It’s not exactly a perfect line to draw (like I said, they did draft Fulton under Dorsey, and Remmers is not a roadgrader), but it does seem to suggest that’s the direction they’re going along the interior.

You are correct. Andy wants to be able to 'run at will' when he needs to and we have not been able to do that against really good d-lines when needed IMHO.

I think this moves means that we lost our starting right guard, so we went out to find someone to replace him.

I don't give a shit if he starts or not. Hell, its best for the young guys to gain experience in my book, but he seem to go through guards like crazy so its best to kick the tires and see what this dude has left in the tank.
