Yes, hoping he is better than Gaines

At the end of the day, it's something of a lost season, so taking him out for a test drive now is a low risk/high reward move.

I'm not optimistic.

There is just nothing to lose here.

Revis was one of the surest tackling CBs in his prime but you just don't move a guy with his man coverage skills to safety

Under normal conditions that's exactly what you'd do.

What you don't do is play him in any zone coverage because he's terrible at it. He's so terrible the Bucs let him go after signing him to an insane contract...

By the way, let's hope this MF is coming to play because we really can't afford to have two CBs playing like this

Not really. How frequently do you see a historically great cover corner make the switch to safety? Doesn't happen often.

You wonder why all of a sudden Revis changed his mind and accepted the deal that we were offering from the get go that he had been refusing since we had approached him weeks ago.

Was it that Revis wanted a signing bonus to ensure he would not have to play that hard because he already got his $$$ ??

Or was it something personal in his life that changed from a financial perspective that he realized I have no choice but to accept this deal and now I have to earn it?

You hope it was something more personal rather than "haggling" to avoid having to put out effort while still getting some $$ up front and the reason I ask the question. And realistically it was probably both and Veach just wore him down maybe knowing he had the leverage on Revis and why he didn't deviate from the original offer.

Whatever Revis's motivation, good on Veach for holding the line on this deal to ensure at least an effort/ 'incentive from Revis to play well' if he wants future $$.

We have yet to see the deal but it seems to be incentive based.

Which is good...
