So to sort some things out, here's what I've gathered...

- Revis was most recently good in 2015. Went to a Pro Bowl, was voted #24 on the players' top 100 heading into 2016
- He had wrist surgery before 2016, and gained weight. He also could not press as much as he wanted to coming off of the surgery, especially early on in 2016
- He is now healthy and is back down to his old playing weight

Hmm....

Damn. This might help us to win another game this season. CP could be up in arms if this guy is anything above D+. This signing could really stunt Mahomes's progress.

Regardless of whether or not the Chiefs pay him, we're still being used.

We've been trying to sign him for weeks and he wouldn't do it until now.

Because he's lazy, and just wants to guarantee his benefits.

Well played, Mr. Revis.

This is the part where we all hope and pray that Revis plays great and Mahomes takes over and takes the offense to another level of explosiveness just in time for the playoffs.

Ehh, regardless he is playing for us for next to nothing for 6 or more games. If he is using it for benefits so be it. In the long run its a win win. 6 games for low cash. He is an upgrade one way or another, and I think he has too much pride to just mail it in.

Revis was going to count 15.3mm against the cap in 2017 for the Jets and he was released after four felony charges that have since been dropped. And we only have to pay his dental and medical? To get Gaines off the field?

I'd say even Clay can't find a problem with this, but... Well...

I see no downside to this signing. He has to be better than Gaines/Acker, he's playing for free, and if he works out, we get him for $10M (or less) next year. The only person I've seen bitching about this move is a person that loves to hate the Chiefs. So what if he gets another year service added to his pension, it surely isn't coming out of our pockets.

you think the Chiefs are unaware that Revis benefits from this deal other than playing for the minimum?

We are desperate. If he's a flop, he's still probably better than Gaines and either way we are not out shit in salary cap.

Are we supposed to care if Revis gets benefits from the NFL? We give a shit if he's better than Gaines. And that's a damn low bar.

Goddamn. I've never seen a Clay troll get so universally shit on. Usually he's got at least a couple of fools backing him up.
