Are you having a bad day?

Well, take solace in the fact that you weren't scammed into sending $25.6M from your employer.

https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/4/24...onference-call

Apparently the scammers got a low-level employee on a fake conference call and used video images of major employees of a large corporation. Most of this article is behind a paywall but it at least fills in some details on the article above:

https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/...gtype=homepage

SO next time your boss cusses you out, tell him you haven't sent $25.6M of the company's money to scammers.

Seconded. I would support SEAL teams finding these people and assassinating them, or maybe having space lasers fry them. These people are the worst kind of evil.

Yes but maybe not that bad. Found out my dog has a heart issue and diabetes. 500 bucks already before meds or having to put him down. Since I've already invested that much just getting diagnosed I'm thinking I might as well give the insulin a shot and see how he responds with everything else.

These are the same people who call some 85 year old grandma who has diminished mental capacity and prey on her empathy getting her to drain her bank account that she is living off of savings & social security to the end of her days. How people could do such a thing and sleep at night I have no idea.

Not reading the article, but how does a low level employee have authority to send that kind of money without going through several levels of approval? I’m a director for my company and I can’t approve anything over 250k.

He’s not a “low level employee” anymore.

Now he is unemployed and trying to figure out how to launder his share if $25m.
