Andy is actually the best offensive mind in football, so to answer your question, NO. Bob Sutton isn’t a great defensive mind

Part of the problem is our style of play. With Alex we would have long drives taking up more of the clock and giving the defense rest.

The Steelers had 20 more plays than us yesterday. Big Ben wasn’t that great. He looked great bc he threw the ball 60 ****ing times. If Big Ben had 28 attempts like Mahomes, he would have only had 210 yards and 2 TD’s.

Our opponents have played 39 more snaps than our offense. That’s almost an entire game for us (55 is our snap count). No defense will do well in those circumstances.

Despite that, we forced FIVE punts on 11 possessions. And the other possession was the missed FG. That’s more than enough to win with this offense.
In all honesty it should have been SIX punts if Eric Murray can tackle Big Ben on the blitz.
Also an interesting nugget...Conley doesn’t fumble and we give up 9 points in the 2nd half.

Bottom line is this: offense needs to have more plays and the rookies need to start playing soon.

Nah. If Reid didn't bring Mahomes in and Smith was still around I'd be all but done with this team. It took 5 ****ing years but the Reid hire is finally paying off.

It payed off way before that considering what shape this franchise was in before he got here. I think people forget how truly awful the 2012 Chiefs were. Andy finally pulled the trigger after giving Alex every opportunity to lead this team. I was about there with you until they took Mahomes. But there's no denying Andy's offensive genius.

Have to remember we were up by 2 scores and were driving killing clock and likely would have scored again. If it wasn’t for The stupid run call 5 yards deep in our own end zone that resulted in a safety and Conley’s fumble we likely would have won by 3 tds.

Defense did enough, they can be better a lot better but would have looked different if the offense didn’t give the ball back to a HOF QB and their high powered offense 2 times.

Absolutely. The Reid era has been a tremendous success. I love that man.

Dude is a ****ing good football coach and might be one of the best in history at QB development and offensive creativity. He also has a LLLLOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG track record of playoff futility. Mahomes could very well be the Bradyesque QB that Reid needs to get him his rings. Reid/Smith might have been more painful than the Pioli years. At least then I didn't have misguided hope that got crushed.

Eh, agree to disagree. Being the Cleveland Browns level bad at times under Pioli wasn't fun. It was apathetic. I hate postseason failure as anyone but great coaches need great QBs to win Super Bowls unless you have a generational defense. Mahomes looks to be Andy's holy grail. I have bitched about the deficiencies Reid has had since he got here but he's awesome. If he had Brady, Rodgers, Ben, Wilson, Peyton Manning, he's got multiple Super Bowls.

Mahomes is the most talented QB he's had as a head coach (yes, more than McNabb, Vick, Kolb, Alex, etc.). I'll ride this wave until it crashes along shore.

I haven't read this thread, but I just want to point out how nice it is to see a busy thread on the front page and knowing with full confidence that it didn't somehow morph into an Alex Smith thread.

Good stuff, people. Good stuff.
