Are police dramas dead?

Are police dramas dead? I feel like they are going the way of the Western. Police are hated so much now in our society - I realize not by everyone - and grown men seem to like children's movies now about superhero instead of watching awesome cop dramas like Heat, The Departed, Fargo, The Fugitive, Die Hard, Traffic just to name a few.

Now it is just superhero movies in their place.

I think the tech was supposed to be a joke even for the time, it was poor Baltimorians and underfunded police scrambling and employing ingenuity to fight their covert war.

A realist counter to CSI tech porn.

I never watched The Wire. It aired when The Sopranos was on, add Curb Your Enthusiasm to my weekly line up and I had zero time to watch The Wire. I’ve heard nothing but good things though.

It's been fantastic so far.
What did you think of season 2? It wasn't my favorite but I've read mixed reviews.

You should watch it. I watched it for the first time a couple years back and it held up well.

We still watch NCIS and NCIS-LA. I could do without them, but the wife likes them so I watch with her. I do like Gary Cole on NCIS.

Right now, I really dig The Rookie, with Nathan Fillion. It's one of my favorite shows on TV.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that one, but it is about the only one I have watched in many years. Most always end up with the same theme.

I don't care for the super hero or sci fi shows at all, in fact they are far worse to me. The first scene where something beyond normal or super natural happens, the show is history.

I really enjoyed it. They created characters that you kind of pulled for but we’re still crooks.

The union leader did everything to help his people, but desperation pushed him to the illegal side. His nephew was similar, the son was one of the most unlikeable characters ever.

It was fascinating that one stained glass window brought it all down.

Real world, gray area characters. Love it.

And yes. Them titties.
