Correct, but he’s not the mental head case Toney is. From what I heard Toney will cost KC the same amount whether he’s on the team or cut. If that’s the case they might as well keep him and hope next season is better than this one with him.

Let's say you bought tickets for a Willy Wonka event in Scotland and before setting off you hear it's perhaps the shittest event ever in the history of shit events. Would you still go because you had already paid for it or would you say **** it, I'm gonna go to Kohl's for a shit instead?

I'm going for that shit in Kohl's.

He didn't exactly catch the ball and run backwards - guy tried to break a tackle and the oddity of the rules say that if you do so and keep your feet, you get punished for it.

I don't think it's fair to say he didn't anything wrong there. That's a designed quick catch/run where his job is to try to break that tackle and find some grass along the sideline. Dude got squared up, absorbed the blow and then tried to recover and couldn't.

This wasn't a Demarcus Robinson catching and running the wrong way scenario. We see that same play happen to guys every week and it's just a strange way the forward progress rule works on occasion.

Toney is at least a NFL level athlete, Skyy Moore has no reason to keep a roster slot after camp.

The third down he converted against Cincy on nothing more than leg drive and effort will be the play I remember most from him. It was at a MASSIVE point in the game and he got stood up a bit, only to power forward and stick the ball out just far enough for the 1st.

It was a massive play and that's one that's definitely going to be lost to time.

I wonder if you would've posted the above if he hadn't made those two tough contested catches in the game against the Bills and we had lost that one.

He is running backwards with one hand on the turf to keep his balance. He should have gone down the instant he started going backwards because there was no avenue to escape. Watch it again, he's hardly been forced backwards by the defenders and it's totally on him that we lost those 10 yards.

There wouldn't have been any playoff hero posts for me to reply to so no.

Also we save money down the line by cutting Skyy Moore, not much but some pennies.

Rearview mirror analysis.

Again, same guy who used second effort to pick up a massive first down last season. It was an effort play that didn't work out.

Trying to barbecue him for it is silly. When guys make that play and find a seam, we sing their praises. When they dont because they have only so much vision out there in real time and the play is unfolding, we hold them to the standard of Madden View omniscience.

I just think these takes are a bit OTT with people comparing him to Frank Clark etc. In the playoffs for KC in the last 2 years he did what you would expect an average to below average WR would do. Comparing his average playoff performances to a player that's third all time in postseason sacks is dumb imo. He upped his game from downright terrible to okay.

Asking a free agent acquisition who was paid like an average Free Agent WR to set post-season records is equally dumb.

And comparing the bar we set for him to a guy who was, at one point, the highest paid defensive player in the NFL (and who also cost us a 1st and 3rd round pick to acquire) is beyond nonsensical. Especially when MVS wasn't a guy who was quitting on plays and drinking himself into regular season irrelevance.

Another MVS contract/output would be fine. Nothing great, nothing catastrophic. Mildly disappointing at worst.

Another Frank Clark debacle simply isn't something we can do and continue to be successful with Mahomes now costing real money and many of our younger players now seeking contracts.

I'm not the one who was originally comparing him to Frank Clark dude. I'm pointing out he obviously shouldn't be in that conversation and that some people on here are making that comparison which I find ridiculous.

And I agree that MVS was fine for us.

I’d be willing to keep Toney around as nothing more than a punt/kicker returner.

That becomes his entire focal point.
