Any Plumbers in the house?
Question for you. I'm replacing 2 toilets in my condo and both have broken flanges where you bolt the toilet into. Do I need to replace these flanges or can I just seal the toilet really good so it won't move?
I wouldn't worry about it but it's on the top floor and I don't want it to leak down onto the unit below me. Danke. |

The toilet needs to be bolted down tight so you will need to replace the flange if its broke

Yeah I need to take a photo. But basically it's PVC and for some damn reason they glue these into the 4" drain pipe instead of threading them. Pain in the ass to chip away the old one and chances are you might damage the drain.
Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and call a pro... |

They sell metal repair flanges that fit over the top of your existing flange. Put silicone between the 2 and secure the metal flange to the plastic one using self tapping screws. Use a wax ring with a rubber horn to make sure that it won't leak.
That'll be $90. |
