That press conference left me a bit underwhelmed....Veach seemed green as grass. Not confident at all that he will replicate the success/accuman of finding waiver wire players...or will stand his ground against Father Reid. He seemed like a "yes man" replacement.

So Chunt had no idea of the internal issues until Spring?...then after a "thorough" audit he decides he needs to fire Dorsey...could he have been anymore vague? What prompted the need for this sudden audit...who brought it to his attention?

Whatever....bunch of horseshit. Andy played a role in this...that became obvious today.

Somehow, the official story as to why Dorsey was canned became even less credible today. You don't fire the team's highest executive on a whim, or because he "rubbed some people the wrong way". It wasn't a contract dispute because there were never any negotiations. Hunt freely admits he never had any intention of firing Dorsey until recently, which rules out performance. The only story that makes sense is Reid wanted him gone. Reid seems to be pulling all the strings and he's got the GM he wants now, to hear them tell it.

It was clearly explained.

If you don't believe it, that's on you for not believing anyone or anything.

No, it wasn't explained.

CHunt didn't say a single word on what led to Dorsey being fired or on the audit except..."we needed the front office to match the professionalism of the coaching staff".

Building one of the top rosters from the Pioli 2-14 ashes just wasn't "professional" enough...12-4 isn't doing a good enough job. 11-1 in your division doesn't quite cut it.

I didn't hear a definitive reason...just some half-assed political spin and question dodging.

Fans deserve a better reason for this...hiring a young, inexperienced scout to replace him isn't good enough.

Veach made it clear a couple times today that he was going to prioritize being 'proactive' with his plans and said that it was very important to get some things done 'on time'... he said that he and Hunt had spoken about being proactive.

It sounded like he was talking about contract extensions. Which goes back to Berry, Houston, Hali, etc....

Overpaying for the LTD and Eric Fisher extensions probably piqued Hunt's interest

Andy doesn't like taking a back seat to all this Dorsey success talk in KC.

You have to have a pretty substantial reason for canning your 12-4 GM on short notice? It's a bad look around the NFL. Cap issues can be fixed...I haven't heard a justifiable explanation thus far.

I'm going with Reid wanted him gone...and wouldn't sign an extension otherwise. It makes the most sense. The rest is just political spin using Dorsey's short-comings as an alibi....a protection buffer for Andy.

The simplest explanation, given that Hunt is so hopelessly in love with Reid, is that he probably wanted to extend Reid badly, and Reid exploited this opportunity to leverage him into getting rid of Dorsey. It's really the only thing that makes all the pieces fit.

There is speculation that the Hogan and Russell selections then being cut led to Dorsey's termination too
