Since Jawaan Taylor's 2025 salary guaranteed today, I'd look for a restructure there soon. Not a lot of downside and it'll open up room to add while this Sneed saga continues, or perhaps opens the door for him to stay on the tag.

Taylor's current cap hits:
2024: $24.725M
2025: $24.725M
2026: $24.725M

If you do a partial restructure of say $10M of his base salary, that opens up another $10m for this year and elevates his '25 and '26 cap hits to $28.225M.

Yeah, maybe bonusing out about $12 million of that to kick $8 million into the 25/26 seasons is a decent idea.

Even if the Sneed trade gets made, you've just created a rollover that would be carried forward and 'apply' to the overages you've created in the coming years anyway.

And the salary will get paid over the course of a season - if not that very day. So there's some time value lost but nothing substantial and no real cap risk.

They've got right around 70 players under contract right now; after your draft class + UDFA class, that number jumps to near 85.

We are talking about just a handful of spots to fill remaining in FA. That Taylor restructure will be the signal to me that they're ready and willing to keep LJ on the tag, because in a perfect world I don't think they wanted to do a Jawaan restructure until during the season, if that.
