Reminder about the Chiefs 2018 Draft.
Due to the wheelings and dealings of Dorsey and Veach, it can be easy to be confused about what picks the Chiefs have and where.
Normally, teams get 7 picks, one in each round: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. However:
2. 3. 4. 6. 7. The Chiefs likely have several picks coming in, however:
2. 3. <---- Smith trade 3. 4. 4. <---- Peters trade 6. <---- Foles compensatory 7. <---- King conditional 7. <---- Cooper conditional And that, right there, is currently what the Chiefs 2018 NFL Draft looks like. (Though I'd bet anything that Veach will move all over the place on the 3rd day of the draft.) The Chiefs have also made a pair of trades that affect the 2019 NFL Draft:
1. 2. 2 (Peters). 3. 5. 6. 7 (Streater). Don't get used to it. If there's anything we know about this Veach kid, it's that he does not sit on his laurels. Last edited by Direckshun; 03-06-2018 at 03:28 PM.. |

That conditional swap of 7ths for Rod Streater was waaaaaaaaay more trouble than it's worth |

Hey that swap is the difference between Stacy Coley and Jack Tocho*!
* Actual players drafted at the 49ers and Chiefs draft slots in the 7th round of the 2017 draft. Both were actually drafted by the Vikings. Coley is a WR that has played 7 total snaps -- including special teams -- and was inactive Week 2. Jack Tocho is a DB that was waived before the start of the season. |

Or you could just go here and they do it for you (except for compensatory guesses): http://www.prosportstransactions.com...tTrades/Years/

Smith trade has updated the OP.
I will update again when Marcus Peters compensation is confirmed. |

When do we find out if those conditional 7ths actually give us anything? Isn't it the player we traded away has to meet a specific benchmark in order to grant us that 7th?
I don't think Battle or King met those requirements for their new teams. We might get something for Cooper. Does that mean if Cooper is the only one that we only have one 7th rounder? |

If we can hit on our 3's and 4's, we'll be in great shape.
We can't afford to miss on these picks. Dorsey loved workout warriors, hopefully Veach loves good players. |

I'm guessing it'll be a gadget type player, a bigger version of DAT, a guy that can line up at running back and slot receiver. |

7th round picks have about a 5% chance of making the team.

Another pick that gives KC a chance to add Jaylen Samuels late. We need defense but he’s a great value pick in round 4

I hope we package the 2019 second up to move up in the 2018 draft, I'd rather they got someone who can have a year to develop with the team this year and then contribute well in 2019
