Competition. Guessing contract will allow Chiefs to cut him (if needed) prior to season with little to no cost. 20 lbs bigger than West and can catch out of backfield.

Sounds like he’s great in pass protection which is main skill needed if replacing West. Also good pass catcher and durable. If he’s $500K cheaper than West then sounds good to me.

Makes sense to me. Appears to be an upgrade over West.
Looks much harder to bring down than West, plus he made some nice catches.

I hope he ends up being a diamond in the rough.

Sidenote but not sure what happened to West.

He looked really good in 15, then the injury in 16 and last year just looked like he was running in sand.

I think his ankle injury was more severe than reported.

He looked pretty good when healthy last year but his problem since 2015 had been staying healthy.

That's a guy that is much bigger than West but doesn't really appear any slow and shows better hands and more wiggle..also doesn't go down easy.

This is the type of guy who can carve out a niche role and be a contributor.

Possibly.

Just seems like he never came back right from the injury.

Solid depth signing for the Chiefs- hope his offseason rehab on his shoulder goes well. Can't really lose here- Chiefs can part ways with Williams if he doesn't look good in camp.
