Stadium Watch 2024 -Jackson County Residents: How Are You Voting?

Vote in this poll if you actually live in Jackson county.

We've all shared our opinions in the other thread. But who gives a shit what somebody in Platte County or Johnson County or Phoenix or NYC thinks. We're all just noise.

Royals have playoff droughts, can't deny that, but their World Series winning droughts are nothing compared to half the MLB. Their division alone is Cleveland 75 years, Detroit 39 years, and Minnesota 32 years. The White Sox went 87 years without winning a championship. It's just crazy seeing some of winning World Series droughts in MLB history.

I think Carl Peterson was right the entire time of just being .500 is what people want.

This lost because it should. If the Hunts want to offer a serious proposal it could actually go somewhere.
Only two things could be true: Chiefs want all the Jackson County money if the Royals move, and may even ask for more as the leverage would be strong.

or

They prefer to move to Kansas and have a bright shiny new facility.

If they were serious about wanting to win this vote, it would have been a bigger push by the Chiefs side.

He might do that but he doesn't have to. He's got one of the most valuable and well known sports franchises in the world in a sports league that prints money. This franchise will never be as big as it now. Mahomes, Kelce, even Taylor Swift has brought a level of worldwide fame and value to this organization and Kansas City that we'll never see again. He can do whatever he wants with this team basically. We aren't going to stop him, Frank White isn't going to stop him. Nobody has leverage on the Chiefs. I don't know why he wouldn't take this as a chance to do whatever he wants. Loyalty to his dad might be the only reason he doesn't.

Said at the time that the royals had to be pissed at the chiefs reno plan.

I really hope they don't go to Kansas.

You seem to be making assumptions that don't even make a little sense when you consider the measures passed 20 years ago when both teams were shit... and that plan didn't pass the first time either.

Consider it's not about fans hating the Chiefs despite the dynasty or about wanting something for free.

I’m sorry, it all just makes me kind of sad. Yeah, the Royals have been shitty, but they’re OUR shitty Royals. These are teams that were here long before I was born. Teams that I’ve watched since I was a three year old sitting on my dad’s lap.

I don’t care if they suck, I love going to Royals games and enjoying the entire atmosphere. It just kind of sucks, in my opinion. And, honestly, it’s kind of stupid for people to be giddy about the possibility of them not improving things, or worse, moving elsewhere.

I do not think there is a market that is that great that would not impede on another market in a way that NFL owners would not be down for.

Or - you could actually ask that they put it to decent use before giving it to them rather than just hitting your knees and slurping down the first thing they put in front of you.

There was no reason to actually LIKE that proposal. It was little more than an attempted hostage taking.

Less than 20% of Jackson Co voted. Should put it on the Nov ballot and it will probably pass. But they need to improve the plan especially the Chiefs.

Kansas City is sports crazy. This should be a message to do better. Lots of no votes from people who would have voted yes if the teams had done the right thing for the community that allows it to make so much money.

Hey come what may.
Yeah just no.

KC needs these teams a lot more than these teams need KC.

That sounded nice though reading it, I will say.
