IIRC, Kelce fumble ****ed a 20 yard TD pass that hit him in the hands a couple of weeks ago....

I don't think there are any bonuses tied to it, but it's definitely a stat that people will talk about in his HOF induction year. I know there's a little risk involved, but I wouldn't mind putting him out there for a drive and force-feeding him the ball until he gets 16 yards. Players care about that stuff, and letting him get it is part of how Andy gains so much respect.

Yeah, I'd do what the player wants in these situations. It's a game and people want to unlock accomplishments.

I'd play him. He's still a rookie that's still learning this offense - and unlike the other ass WR's he seems to be capable of learning it...

I'd just a soon rest everybody we can. Rice can hang out with Mahomes, watching film and playing catch. Same for Kelce. I'll back whatever Big Red decides though.

I say force him the ball until he gets 16 yards. That's one hell of a historic streak he has going, I doubt he wants it to end. But honestly the 17th game waters it down quite a bit, was way more impressive with 16 games.

Technically it would be 16 because he didn't play against the Lions..

It will only be 16 games for Kelce.

This. Im frankly surprised at how some have minimalized the importance.

Imagine putting hours and hours and years upon years on a game to break a record. Then one day a lightning storm wipes out everything and you reset at 0. Now imagine that the entire world was watching and these accolades will be talked about by millions for dozens of years. There's a small physical toll to playing a few extra snaps but there's also a mental toll for falling that short.

And man, for a guy nearing retirement... Do we think it's not a big big difference between continuing to chase a milestone this offseason versus starting the season reset at 0?

Our HOF coach needs to dial up his best play. Get travis his 16 yards and have him take a knee. It honestly would not surprise me if the chargers groove that so we can get that distraction out of the way.

7 receptions for 16 yards. Gets him to the 100 catch/1000 yard season extending his record in both categories.
