Everest was another good one.
Although, I have a tough time feeling sorry for these Adrenaline junkie types. |

Stranded: I've Come From A Plane That Crashed in The Mountains: The survivors of the 1972 Andes plane crash tell their story; intense is an understatement. |

Guys, sorry I made the thread and then bailed. Had some issues tonight at work. Great suggestions so far. I think I might start with Touching The Void.
Has anybody seen Into the White? It's pretty good. German bomber pilots and English Fighter pilots both get shot down over Norway and end up stranded at the same remote abandoned cabin, and they have to work together to survive. |

Here are a few, with some variety. I hope it's what you're looking for.
The Revenant was just in theaters, Man In The Wilderness is the earlier version Castaway and Robinson Crusoe are island survival Walkabout, or The Earthling, if you want survival in Australia Touching The Void for a climbing survival movie (or Vertical Limit, which is not great, but watchable if you like Robin Tunney, since TTV was already mentioned) Quest For Fire for a prehistoric survival movie Deliverance for a (dated but still worth a watch if you've never seen it) Redneck survival movie The Road for a post-apocalypse survival story Into the Grizzly Maze for another Man v. Bear survival movie |

Concerning the movie Wild, I think it's one of those movies that might be the perfect date movie. For women it's got the drama and emotions of Witherspoon's relationship with her mother, and for guys it has the wilderness survival and flashbacks to scenes of Witherspoon having tons of drug-addled sex with strangers. It's a win/win.

Apocalypse Now. I know it's more of a War movie, but there are some survivalist elements to it.
