Its a ruff thing to hear, but you wrong a cat once, you're sworn enemies. A dog you can beat on all day errday. One is admirable, one is respectable.

Is that actually a factor in people's decisions? I'd think that a main part of owning a pet and loving it is going out of your way not to physically abuse it, but that's just me. I'm an equal opportunity animal lover, but I've had fantastic luck with my cats so far.

IDK, I thought we were flexing manly animal opinions in here.

J/K, I love them both and like anything its dependent on the owner. If you're a real cool MF, dogs and cats will love you the same. I'd gladly hurt an owner, or otherwise shit human, over an animal any day...and it's a cat that taught me to be that way.

I don't have anything against dogs, they are just a pain in the ass to own. If you think about it, a cat is no less manly than a dog. A cat is independent, a dangerous carnivore coming from the lineage of Lions & Tigers. A cat you have to earn it's respect usually and doesn't follow you around all the time like a little kid. If anything, a dog is more like a little child and therefore a maternal instinct would yearn for that pet over a cat

Ask any midwesterner who has outbuildings if they like their outdoor cats. You'll get a great big yes.

Ask any sane person if they want a box of animal shit in their home and they'll tell you no.

Agree to disagree

I don't mind the box of animal shit in my house. Just put it in a closet or the basement. They have good litter and odor repellent these days. I can usually tell when I go into someone's house if they have a dog, versus a cat. I can smell dogs easily. Unless they are groomed super often, they just have a stench to them, we all know the wet dog stench. My cat can sleep right by my face and I can't even smell that it is there.
