Some chatter today about Mahomes drifting too far from the pocket

Thoughts?

Seems to me that this could work to the Chiefs advantage. I know Andy loves to design new plays. There has to be a play where Patrick takes a 10yd drop & they can run some sorta play from that? We haven't seen a real screen yet. That has to be coming.

Mahomes dropping back is what helped us win the SB. These analysts can take their useless opinions and shove them right up their ass. Mahomes does whatever the **** he wants.

Plenty of room for improvement. Hopefully Mahomes and everyone else can perform a lot better in the coming weeks.

Room for improvement? Mahomes has already ascended beyond human constraints. If he does something that appears to be an "unintentional mistake", it was actually by design. He planned for it to happen. Us mortals cannot possibly understand his ways. If we ever lose it's because Mahomes wanted it to happen. It's all part of his grand plan.

I think the point Schwartz was trying to make is that if Mahomes stops drifting so far back in the pocket, it will actually improve the play of the offensive line, most notably the tackles.

When outside pass rushers have more of a straight line path to the QB, which Mahomes drifting back too far gives them, they are able to get a higher percentage of pressures and hits on the QB. The closer QB stays to the LOS, the more difficult the angle of attack is for outside pass rushers.

Don’t ask the genius to change. Put it on the O Line coaches to study film and prepare their group to block in a manner that fits with the tendencies of Mahomes.

Mahomes is really really really good. I don't know why people can't accept that maybe he can work on a thing or two. For all the things he does incredibly well he needs to read his pocket better. And that is not always by design. Seems especially relevant since SF and LAC really flustered our offense with good pressure from DEs.
