good win out of the gate...need to get the fouls down a bit and polish it up on the offensive side of the ball but this team showed tonight they can do it all, inside outside, defense and on the boards....gonna be a fun year

People suggesting that Geist and CVL couldn’t contribute don’t understand team basketball.

I was impressed with Geist tonight. With legitimate coaching, he has become a solid reserve. Didn't make any mistakes, played good defense (He was a huge liability there a year ago, but that now looks like a coaching issue), and didn't force anything. That's encouraging.

VanLeer still has cement in his shoes. If he hits 40 percent or better from 3, he can play 8-10 minutes a game... but he's still a big liability in man defense looks.

even if he’s hitting, he shouldn’t play much. But, he can help. Geist, oTOH, is a solid reserve.

People that think Vanleer contributed to that game probably call it shooteyhoops.

That guy ****ing sucks and every second he's on the floor takes playing time away from a significantly better player.

Try not to fall in love with every piece of shit 'gritty' white guy. That's how you get Kim Anderson.

Oh wait...yeah, have fun with that idiot.

Porter told Cuonzo in warm ups that his leg was not feeling right. He started the game to avoid getting a technical foul. Sounds like they were just playing it safe.

I thought Jontay looked overmatched against a smaller opponent. Soft, slow, was not explosive, poor hands. Maybe it was just a bad night because I thought he looked ok against kU. Trying to remember he’s only 17...

We beat a bad team. We are improved. All aspects need to be perfected. I look for huge growth game to game. We are a tourney team. Looked at times sort of a playground style, with offensive spacing needing work. Shooting 3’s well was very encouraging. Glad to see P Laurie Arena nearly full. I am optimistic.
