Personally I think those extremely low end piece of shit cards are a waste of money. Sometimes you are better off just using the integrated graphics on your CPU.
It really depends on the games and how old is old, but I can't imagine you couldn't find a good deal on a used couple generation old mid tier card. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NVIDIA-GeFor...IAAOSwCQZZN0TS http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GTX-660...gAAOSwblZZH41E Last edited by jd1020; 06-07-2017 at 01:04 AM.. |

It being windows 7 is irrelevant. That game is compatible all the way back to Windows 98 and a GT 730 more than covers the "recommended" GPU requirements. The 730 doesn't require any external power to run so it's basically if you have an open PCIe lane to plug it in. I just don't think it's a worth while purchase, but it will work.

Depends on the other components of the old ass PC.
You can have win 7 on an original pentium, an not be able to run dick, or it could be something like a q6600 where you could run that game pretty well~ Or even a gen 1 i3 or i5 and run it pretty well. Hard to tell. |

They are a hell of a lot better than the 730 but they also require more power to run which means you'd need to make sure that the power supply in your computer can handle it.
But really there's not much anyone can give advice on in regards to your situation because all we are working with is "It has windows 7." It would help if you could take a screenshot of your system information that shows your CPU and RAM by going to control panel > system and security > system. Or you could download a program called CPU-Z and posting screenshots of the various tabs particularly "CPU", "Mainboard", and "Memory". |

i know little in depth about computers.. but i'm pretty sure you want your mainboard/processor/ram to be compatible with the card.

Really the only thing to consider is your cpu and psu. The motherboards only requirement is at least one PCIe x16 slot which all modern motherboards have, if there's one out there that doesn't I haven't seen it. Last edited by jd1020; 06-07-2017 at 12:58 PM.. |

Hey Penz, do you know what your mother board is? Or maybe just the model and type of computer if you know that. If not can you go here (https://www.belarc.com/products_belarc_advisor) and download Belarc and run it and post either a screen shot of the information or copy and paste the data. That might give me a little more information to work off of. I haven't ran that in a while but it might also display keys for some software. I don't remember if it does or not.
You may want to blank that out if it does. Is your computer a tower? Have you ever done anything like taking out motherboards or anything like that? |

Possibly, but given the conversation I'm working under the assumption that old ass defines a computer that came with Windows 7 pre installed which would mean the components inside are way beyond the AGP days.
