*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

It was funny with Luck because he had his ridiculous Civil War generals beard.

It's really derivative and schlocky with Mahomes; there's nothing Civil War General about the guy (Jaden Schwartz has one as well; equally silly). But whatever - to each their own.

That's kind of interesting. Deep right used to be AS11's big shot.

Not so much with Mahomes. I don't know what that means, but I'm sure I'm not smart enough to figure it out.

This is why when I hear people talk about how he hasn't been sacked and hasn't really had pressure, or the O-line has been so good, that I have to think they aren't watching the game. He stands in there and tosses the pass while getting rocked. He's fearless. He's had a lot of pressure but he sticks a dagger in their hearts anyways. You can blitz him and he'll find the Hot Read and hit it. It's amazing to me that there are still people who think he has all day back there just because the sack numbers aren't there. Watch the damn game and you might have a clue what you are talking about.

Y'know...you're right. I hadn't really thought about it, but I do think more of his deep shots tended to be to his right side.

I wonder how much of that has to do with Reid's deep passing game generally revolving around his Z receiver, who would tend to line up to the strong side (generally the right) far more often than not.

With the addition of Watkins and the fact that Reid now has both Watkins and Hill focusing on both the X and Z routes and being largely interchangeable, I wonder if that hasn't given Mahomes more freedom to throw to either side and increases the likelihood of big shots available in all thirds.

May just be a Smith thing, but it could also be a scheme change.

Here's Stephen A parroting that line. I love the rest of the commentary though. Stephen is playing the bad cop role.

Rams have an offense to rival ours, Stephen.

Chiefs did all of this right. Of course they gave him weapons.
